A verbal argument early Saturday morning in Citrus Heights escalated into a stabbing near Greenback Lane and Auburn Boulevard.
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was transported to a local hospital with multiple stab wounds. While the injuries are serious, they are not considered life-threatening, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.
The department shared on Facebook that detectives from the General Investigations and POP units responded swiftly to the incident.
Austin Carson, 27, a homeless probationer, was identified as the suspect. An attempted murder warrant was issued, and IMPACT Detectives arrested him on Wednesday.
Carson is currently being held without bail in the Sacramento County Jail.
The investigation remains active. On Facebook, the department asked for the public’s assistance:
