A Ridgeway, Missouri, woman is in custody after being accused of selling methamphetamine to at least one child on school grounds.
According to Harrison County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on May 28, Jennifer Babbick, 35, faces charges for distributing meth to minors, including on school property.
A probable cause statement from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office revealed that a minor came forward on May 7, alleging an incident that occurred on March 15. The girl told investigators she had attended a school dance with Babbick’s child. Although Babbick’s child paid for both of them to enter the dance, Babbick later tried to repay the girl with methamphetamine.
The minor also said this wasn’t the first time Babbick had offered her narcotics. She admitted to smoking meth with Babbick on previous occasions.
Because the alleged exchange took place on Ridgeway R-V School District property, Babbick has been charged with distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location, a more serious offense under Missouri law.
Court records show a warrant for her arrest was issued on Wednesday and served the following day. She is being held without bond.
A bond hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4. No further details have been released at this time.
