The Missouri Department of Corrections has confirmed the death of an inmate at the Jefferson City Correctional Center (JCCC).
Danny Kittrell, 68, was pronounced dead at 5:35 a.m. on June 4, 2025.

Kittrell had been serving a life sentence for a series of violent crimes, including first-degree murder, capital murder, two counts of armed criminal action, forcible rape, and first-degree robbery — all stemming from charges in St. Louis City. He had been incarcerated since 1987.
The department stated that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
