BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A man arrested with more than 230 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Bakersfield has accepted a plea deal, prosecutors announced.

Adolfo Moreno-Ramirez pleaded no contest to a felony drug transportation charge and will receive a split sentence: two years in custody and five years of mandatory supervision by the probation department, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Court records show Moreno-Ramirez entered the plea on Wednesday. A second charge—drug possession for sales—was dismissed as part of the agreement.

Moreno-Ramirez is set to be sentenced on June 24.

His arrest followed a June 2024 traffic stop on 24th Street. Authorities said deputies pulled over an SUV and discovered 231 pounds of meth inside. Investigators believe Moreno-Ramirez had been transporting the drugs from an unknown location in Southern California.
