The department shared on Facebook that detectives from the General Investigations and POP units responded swiftly to the incident.

Austin Carson, 27, a homeless probationer, was identified as the suspect. An attempted murder warrant was issued, and IMPACT Detectives arrested him on Wednesday.

Carson is currently being held without bail in the Sacramento County Jail.

The investigation remains active. On Facebook, the department asked for the public’s assistance:
“We’re asking for the public’s help. If you witnessed this incident or have any information that could aid this case—or any other investigation—please contact us,” the post reads.

Tipsters can call 916-727-5524 or submit anonymous information to the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 1-800-AA-CRIME.
