A Wichita Public Schools teacher is behind bars, suspected of having an inappropriate relationship with a student over the age of 16.
According to the Wichita Police Department, the Exploited and Missing Child Unit (EMCU) received a report about the alleged relationship on Monday.
On Thursday, EMCU detectives arrested a 30-year-old woman at a west Wichita residence. She was booked on suspicion of unlawful sexual relations.
A district spokesperson declined to name the school where the woman works but confirmed she has been placed on paid administrative leave.
The investigation is ongoing, and EMCU plans to present the case to the district attorney’s office next week for review.
